My other car is a 2003 2.5T XT Forester.

It will cost around 8k doing it all yourself. Thats a lot less then you would spend on a slower car, less cool car. That includes purchasing the motor etc.
So far i have spend around 11k, but that includes purchase price of car, 2jz front cut, water/air cooler set up, torsen diff, shift kit, single turbo conversion, full exhaust, suspension, etc. So you get a lot for the money. Plus the price of hoses, relays, solder, etc adds up quick.

That's pretty good actually! I would expected closer to the $20K mark! For just over $10K on what I see with your car.... not bad at all! :)

Oh yeah, that includes the new 2pac paint job too. I think that was around $500 worth of materials, including sand paper, primer, undercoat, base coat and clear coat, with all hardeners etc.
Ive now given up trying to keep the cost down, as i have higher expectations for it now. Instead ill just spread the cost over a longer period of time.
It got to pretty much the point it is now while i was at uni. Then i moved 850kms away from home and left the car behind for a year, then just recently drove it up to where im living now, so progress will continue.
