Will we ever see the 9 again?

I think..a luxury sedan from mazda is needed. Simply because there isnt any available form mazda besides the 6..and that isnt much luxury besides the basic trim and extras. My only obstacle i see from Mazda is a engine to use in a big luxury sedan. The JE is a dinosaur, but it would be nice to see a updated 3.5-3.8, big mazda engineered v6. The 3.5 Twin turbo Eco-boost from ford would be a good heart for it. But id rather see a mazda heart in it. An updated 20b would do me just fine...
*sigh*
we can only hope!

well, what i get is that CX9 is the replacement for 929 (which is apparently based on MPV/HE floor pan anyway)
personally, i don't think that we will see another Saloon from mazda. there's really no market for it
even lexus mostly pushes its IS300 then any other model, Nissan has canned the president and only has skyline that is anywhere near the saloon. Toyota dumped crown, MrkII/Chaser/Crester interprise and the century
the only car that is in sort of saloon class (sort of because it FWD) is honda Accord.
people now days see SUV/Crossovers as a luxury saloons, as they have all the trimmings and usability

didnt know all thsoe models got the axe...
if the genesis, does good in sales,, which it has so far.. i gurantee they will come back! but i guess with the economy, ther isnt really a big market for big expensive boats anymore..

the only market that mazda could fit is exectuve and executive transport, but for most poeple when choice comes down to Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW, Alfa Romeo etc, hard to fit Mazda in there
its just an image thing. maybe things would have been different if Ford would have allowed mazda to create Amati brand to combat Nissan's Infinity and Toyota's Lexus
